Nursing Shortage: Not a Simple Problem

The on-going nursing shortage can make it very hard for employers to fill their needs. According to the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) though there is a 5.1% enrollment increase in entry-level baccalaureate programs in nursing in 2019, this increase is not sufficient to meet the projected demand for nursing services, including the need for more nurse faculty, researchers, and primary care providers few reasons being a significant number of the nursing workforce is nearing retirement age, changing demographics, and a high nurse retirement and turnover rates.

A solution for nursing shortage would be foreign nurse recruitment. Recruitment of foreign nurses makes it easier and more cost-effective for clients to recruit abroad. Advantages of foreign nurse recruitment also include international experience, meeting quality standards, English proficiency, bedside manner, and advantageous timeframe.
